Ministers and Ministries That Inspire Me

I am in Bible College and about three semesters ago we began to study election and predestination. I have really struggled with understanding predestination. I am very honored that God would choose me to belong to Him but as I look around and see so many lost souls who are on their way to hell, I wonder why not them also. How could they be predestined for hell? I've have been studying the book of Romans for months and I have also been listening to some great pastor and what they have to say about the subject. Some believe in predestination and some do not but I am still unsure of what I believe about predestination. I am aware that this is not a Christian doctrine that will keep believers out of hell, but it is very complex. I may never learn who's right or who's wrong on this issue, but this I do know that I once was the worst of sinners and the Lord elected me to be His very own. I have been saved by grace and this precious gift I accept and I do say thank you Jesus. I do know why He did it but I will sing the praises of the Lord forever.

I just learned about Predestination and Election a few years ago. I actually blogged about it myself. I don't believe the bible teaches that God elects some for heaven and others for hell. That goes against his character that is displayed in Jesus. I've read Romans 9 over and over and have had it explained to me by those that believe it says this but I don't see it.
ReplyDeleteThe doctrine of Predestination is all over the Bible, not just in Romans 8. Jesus never extended any invitation to anyone. He chooses whom He wills and this was performed before the foundations of the world. Christ told the disciples to follow him and they did just that.
ReplyDelete"Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?" John 6:70 The word predestination in Rom 8:29 means "proorizo" comes from pro=before and horizon = a division of light and dark. So God pre-bound or pre-Light a family before the foundation of the world.
Why did God have to do this?
Romans 3:23 "There is none righteous no not one" There is none that seeketh after God.
All men drink iniquity like water Job 14:5
..verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.
Ps 39:5
No one can come to God unless the father draws him John 6:44
See it is by God's will that we come to him and everyone does not do this. Why because God did not choose, atone, nor redeem all of mankind. Nor did he extend an invitation to be "saved" Accept Christ is a lie. The Bible does not support this.
God does nothing based on our will. How could he? He's God. He's Self-Existent and he CAN'T do anything by our will because at all opportunity we will sin and go away from Him. To say that God does anything by our decision, purpose, or will is to deny Him and His word. Predestination happened before the world began, he arranged everything in life, so how did we have anything to do with it?
